Free Speech

I've long been a believer in the right of an indivdual to hold and form their own opinions and to be able proclaim to the world that opinion free of interference. Although in Canada we haven't felt the same chilling attacks on Free Speech that the Americans have under the so-called Patriot Act I am nonetheless troubled by the growing limits on Free Speech.

So, I am thankful for our Charter of Rights and Freedoms, but given the atmosphere of mcarthyism in the US which was founded on the principles of Liberty - I remain watchful and vigilant.

To me the fundamental question is : Where has America, the land of the free and the home of the brave gone?
